Very dissapointed. I worked hard to get some of the gems, paid good money to get some, and now I get it back, yet the market will be demolished by it. Gem prices have been coming down, so for people who couldn't get them on thier own or with guildies would be finding an easier time to buy soon. What I feel should have been done was just increasing temporarily the drop rate of titans since theyre the most expensive, thus bringing the price down faster.
Before I felt it was an accomplishment to have razah. It still is an accomplishment, but no more so than getting both goren and norgu...

I got my first Razah last week. I can't say I'm disappointed. Part of me always knew that when I decided to buy the gems for him they would make him free...frankly I'm not that bothered and I may blow the gems on a Coffer, since they'll be pretty worthless. But instead of being disappointed, I'm happy that all my other endgame characters can get him for free.

My first (and only) Razah cost me near 100k to buy the gems and i wont be getting that back (even with a full gem set refund), but do i mind, hell no.
At last i can now realistically get Razah with all my characters, especially as nearly all 8 of them have now finished NF. I am thrilled, especially since i have found a ritualist hero to be very useful.
Great news and thanks Gaile, thanks ANet.

The fact that you soon dont have to pay to get Razah does not mean less challenge as you will still have to do the quest to get him. As other heroes are free to recruit, why does Razah have to be so expensive to get when he is the only Rit hero choice we have?
Suggestion: make 2 armor sets for Razah. Those who paid 4 gems to get him will have him with uber fancy armor; those have him without cost will have him with shitty look but have option to upgrade his armor with 4 gem set.
Now who is not happy? :P

Razah already has 2 armor sets, so you'll need 3.

He was supposed to be a challenge, a bonus for those who could get him. Why does FoW armor have to be so expensive, when we have all those other armors with the same exact stats, but much cheaper? He is a challenge.

It took me a while to obtain the quest and get Razah with my Derv, I had to do it with hero/hench, not much help available at that time. I felt that it was an acomplishment.
Making the requirements lesser at this point (no gems), will likely have a lot more ppl available for doing this quest. (kinda takes the sheen off my orignial effort). If possible maybe Gaile can sway Dev to add a little sweetner for the ppl who took this on originally.

WOW so Anet finally made something easier to get AND managed to keep everyone happy by refunding the difference to them! How about we apply this state of mind to, like, say, making all Fissure of Woe armor insigniable? Yes, I'm aware that probably isn't a word, but I don't care. That would be awesome.

Your truly not the only one losing faith, yet.
I like how Anet has definitely heard this community out loud for its good points and debates on the thread dealing with the ritualist hero in NF specifically. Although I am disapointed in Anet for not seeing this "grind" or whatever else it was subbed earlier. It really seems that Anet was just paper pushing products into the front lines without double checking. DoA was not finished etc etc. This is somewhat a reason I am glad for GW2, although it does not account for the fact that Anet should put more thought into implementations like this.

I sorta like the Gladiator Title on my FoW armor... I don't use it for any other reason...

It's a fair compromise IMO and good news that Razah can be in the hands of the casual players

TYVM. I think this is a fair compromise for those players who don't have the time to PvE really hard for Razzah.
GGs Anet; thanks for listening to us.

my one question though -- what else will these refunded gems be good for? What perks are there to having them back if we went through all the trouble the first time? (-: (I'm not complaining at all -- I like this update, I'm just asking)

I agree that if you want something go work for it otherwise live without it and that is why I had already decided that my rit wasn't going to get Razah but my ranger was and I had started farming LB points to help ease the pain that is DoA. And by the way, there is a reason that it's called Domain of Anguish.
I have been called odd and after this you may agree. I don't climb mountains just because they are there, there needs to be something I'm interested in for me to acquire. By that I mean FoW, UW, Urgoz and the like hold no interest for me because there is nothing there I want. Razah, on the other hand, is something I am going after. But, being human, now that there is an easier way I'm going to take it.
As for Nightfall being the wrong chapter for him, I disagree. If you read his lore
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Razah
and his dialog in the quest Finding a Purpose
http://gw.gamewikis.org/wiki/Finding_a_Purpose
you will see that his profession could have just as easily been anything.

Hi.
I'm the minority ... blah blah blah .... could sell gemstones .... blah blah blah .... Now everyone has one ... blah blah blah .... It is no longer something elite.
So I am disapointed. But I wish best of luck to every player who wasn't good enough to get him in earlier (it means all those who wrote "Yeah! Great Job ANet!").
People will get Rit hench. Others will get gemstones back. There is Hard Mode comming. New minipet is introduced every few hours....... and I'm still waiting for "International" Titles.
